Allen's R/C Cars

2008 King of the Wings Field

MINI LATE MODEL 500 : : .
April 17th, 2010

♦ Format
This event is a 500 lap team endurance race and will feature two classes (not including the 200 lap Novice Enduro): Sportsman Mini Late Model and Expert Mini Late Model. Each race will be 500 laps long and be broken up into two 250 lap segments with each team consisting of two drivers, one driver per segment. No heat races or qualifying. Just a 500 final!

A pill draw will determine the starting grid, and after 250 laps the race will be haulted for a short break and a driver change. Once the break is over, the second and final 250 laps will be run with the starting grid being an invert of the finishing order from the first 250 lap segment. The total 500 laps will be counted towards the final finishing position.

A 200 lap Novice Mini Late Model class will also be run as a support class. This will not be a team race, rather just a 200 lap enduro for the novice drivers. A short 5 - 10minute break will be taken after 75 laps for a battery change. Another break at lap 150 will be taken to allow another battery change to set up the final 50 lap sprint to the end.

- Expert: $30 per team

♦ Rules
  • All normal Allen's R/C Raceway Mini LM Rules apply. Click HERE
  • Must be two(2) drivers per team. No more, no less.
  • The other driver on your team must perform your pitstops. Only one pit person per team. The only people allowed in the designated pitstop area will be the team drivers performing the pitstops for their partner.
  • Either one or two cars can be used for the event, per team. However, only one car can be used per 250 lap segment. The same transponder must be used in both cars if two cars are utilized. If your car breaks, you must either repair that car or wait for the next segment to start before using the other team car.
  • The body must remain as is from factory. No removing / bending panels, or cutting out sections that would allow battery changes to be done faster.
  • No quick-change battery systems. The stock/standard battery retaining system must be used. (Two plastic retaining strips and a battery strap held in by body clips)
  • The body clip used for the battery strap is non-tech other than it must be a traditional body clip. No quick-change style clip. The bodyclip may also be tethered to the car to prevent losing it.
  • Only ONE battery allowed in the car at one time.
  • Battery must use a plug style connector.
  • There is no minimum or maximum number of pitstops. Pit as many times as needed.
  • Cars may be repaired and re-enter the race at any time. Any major repairs to a car must be done in the pits, not on the track (does not include popping a ballcup back on or fixing a body tuck as long as it can be done quickly).
